ÖZET
 
Nazal polip ve kronik rinosinüzit nazal mukozanın kronik enflamatuvar hastalığıdır. Nazal polipler cerrahi veya medikal veya bu ikisinin kombinasyonuyla tedavi edilirler. Endoskopik paranazal sinüs cerrahisi sonrası oküler komplikasyonlar oluşabilir. İki yıl önce sağ taraftan endoskopik paranazal sinüs cerahisi geçirmiş 50 yaşındaki bayan hasta sağ gözde tam görme kaybı ve proptozis nedeniyle kliniğimize başvurdu. İntravenöz steroid tedavisi ile proptozis düzeldi, ancak görme kaybı düzelmedi.  Hastalar olabilecek orbital komplikasyonlar acısından detaylı bilgilendirilmeli ve herhangi bir orbital yapıda etkilenme olduğunda erken dönemde göz doktoruna başvurması sıkıca tavsiye edilmelidir.

Irreversible Blindness and Proptozis Due to Nasal Polyp

SUMMARY
 
Nasal polyp and chronic rhinosinusitis is a chronic inflammatory disease of the nasal mucosa. The treatment of nasal polyps is with surgrical interventions or medical treatment or combination of both. Endoscopic paranasal sinus surgery may cause ocular complications. Fifty years old age woman admitted to our clinic 2 years after paranasal sinus surgery with the complaint of total loss of vision with proptosis on her right eye. After intravenöz steroid  treatment her proptosis was resolved but her vision loss was not improved. A detailed information related to ocular symptoms must be given to the patients who will be operated for nasal polyps with endoscopic surgery and they should be adviced to admit an ophthalmologist in such a case as soon as possible.
