ÖZET

Amaç: LASIK sonrası gelişen nadir bir komplikasyon olan korneal ektazide kontakt lens kullanımının etkinliğini saptamak.
Gereç ve Yöntem: LASIK sonrası korneal ektazi gelişmiş olan 3 gözde kontakt lens uygulaması sonuçlarımız değerlendirilmiştir. Daha önce iki özel merkezde LASIK uygulanmış olan ve görme azalması yakınması ile başvuran 33 yaşında kadın hastanın  iki gözünde ve 24 yaşında erkek hastanın  bir gözünde korneal ektazi saptanmış ve bu iki olgunun 3 gözüne sert gaz geçirgen kontakt lens uygulanmıştır.
Bulgular: Üç gözde de kontakt lens uygulamasının tatminkar olduğu ve görmenin belirgin arttığı saptanmıştır.
Sonuç: LASIK sonrası korneal ektazili hastalarda kontakt lens uygulaması güvenli ve geriye dönülebilen bir yöntem olduğundan diğer cerrahi girişimlerden önce düşünülebilecek bir seçenektir.

Contact Lenses for The Management of Post-LASIK Corneal Ectasia

SUMMARY

Purpose: To report the efficacy of rigid gas permeable contact lenses in corneal ectasia, a rare post-LASIK complication.
Material Methods: We evaluated the results of rigid gas permeable contact lens applications for three post-LASIK corneal ectasia cases. Corneal ectasia was determined in two patients who had LASIK previously. Corneal ectasia was found to be bilateral in a  33 years old female and unilateral in a 24 years old male patient. Rigid gas permeable contact lenses were tried in these cases.
Results: Visual acuities increased in all three eyes with rigid gas permeable contact lenses, no complication was observed.
Conclusion: For post-LASIK corneal ectasia cases, rigid gas permeable contact lens application is a safe and noninvasive choice which can be tried before other surgical methods.
