ÖZET

Sekiz yaşında erkek çocuğu kliniğimize sağ gözde kızarıklık ve görmede azalma şikayetleriyle başvurdu. Yapılan oftalmolojik muayenesinde görme keskinliği sağ gözde 2 mps, sol gözde 4/10 düzeyinde olup, sağ gözde arka sineşi, vitreusta aktif hücreler ve papilladan perifere uzanan vitreus içi bant saptandı. Sol göz biyomikroskop ve fundus muayenesi doğaldı. Bu bulgularla hastada oküler toksokariyazis dü şü nü le rek oral mebendazol ve prednizolon tedavisi başlandı. Altı aylık izlem süresince sağ gözde görme artışıyla birlikte papilladan vitreusa uzanan bantta incelme gözlendi.

Ocular Toxocariasis: A Case Report

SUMMARY

A 8-year-old boy with redness and blurred vision in his right eye was applied. On his ophtalmological evaluation, visual acuity was counting fingers at 2 meters in the right eye and 4/10 in the left eye. There were posterior synechia, active vitreus cells and intravitreal band formation extending from papilla to the periphery in his right eye. Biomicroscobic and fundoscopic examination results were normal in the left eye. With a suspicion of ocular toxocariasis, oral prednisolon and mebendazol therapy was administered. During the six months period of follow up, improvement in the visual acuity of the right eye and shrinkage of the bant was observed.
