Özet

Hidatid kist hastalığı çoğunlukla Echinococcus granulosis (EG) adı verilen ve 4-6 mm boyunda 0.6 mm eninde yaklaşık 3-4 halkadan oluşan küçük bir parazit tarafından oluşturulur. Özellikle Akdeniz ülkelerinin önemli bir sağlık problemidir. Primer inokulasyon parazit yumurtasıyla enfeste gıdaların alımıyla olur ve en sık karaciğeri ve daha az sıklıkla akciğeri tutar. Yumurta larval döneme geçerek yerleştiği bölgede kistik oluşum yapar ve klinik bulgu oluşturur. Tedavide temel prensip cerrahi ile kistin çıkarılmasıdır. Burada, diyafragmayı sağ hemitoraksın yarısına kadar iten dev karaciğer kistinin transtorasik yolla tedavisini bir olgu dolayısıyla sunuyoruz.

Transthoracic Approach to The Giant Hepatic Hydatid Cyst

Summary

Hydatid cyst disease is frequently brought by a small parazite which is 4-6 mm in length, 0.6 mm in width, 3-4 ringed, and called Echinococcus granulosis (EG). This is an important disease especially in Mediterranean countries. Primary inoculation occurs by ingestion of eggs from infested food products the intake of infected foods and most frequently affects the liver than the lungs. Eggs change to larvae creating a cyst where it settles and, therefore, constitutes a clinical symptom. The fundamental principal of treatment is removal of cyst by incision. Herein, we present the treatment of a giant cyst of liver related with a case which pushes the diaphragm to half way up to right hemithorax.
