Özet

Atriyoventriküler septumda bir defekt olmaksızın,mitral kapağın ön yaprakçığında kleft bulunması oldukça nadir görülen doğumsal bir bozukluktur. Literatür taramasında septal defekt olmaksızın sadece mitral kapaktaki klefte bağlı mitral kapak hastalığını bildiren yayın sayısı sınırlıdır ve erişkin yaşta mitral kapak hastalığı olan olguların etyolojisinde doğumsal mitral kapak kleftinin de hatırlanması gerekmektedir. Semptomların az olması nedeniyle bu tür olgular sıklıkla operatif dönemde fark edilmektedirler. Teşhiste ekokardiyografi oldukça faydalıdır. Ancak erişkin çağda ameliyat öncesi dönemde teşhis koymak güç olabilir.

Congenital Cleft Mitral Valve: Review of Surgical Therapy

Summary

A cleft of the anterior mitral leaflet without associated atrioventricular canal malformation is a very rare cause of congenital mitral regurgitation MR). It has been reported in association with other cardiac anomalies. But there are only a few reports of the existence of this anomaly on its own. The clinical symptoms of an isolated cleft of the anterior mitral leaflet are basically those of MR and in cases of severe MR with no obvious mitral valve pathology and an intact atrial septum, this anomaly should be suspected. A cleft in the anterior leaflet of the mitral valve usually results in MR and can be surgically corrected with a good outcome in patients with moderate to severe MR. Echocardiography is useful in the preoperative diagnosis.We are presenting this case report because of the difficulty of the diagnosis in adulthood.
