Silikon Hidrojel Kontakt Lensler: Güncel Durum İzzet CAN ÖZET Silikon hidrojel kontakt lensler, yüksek oksijen geçirgenlikleriyle kontakt lens kullanımı sırasında korneada hipoksi ile oluşan birçok problemin çözülmesine ve ayrıca lenslerin güvenle gece aşırı kullanılabilirliğine olanak tanımış kontakt lenslerdir. Buna karşın silikon maddesinin sertliğinden ileri gelen yüksek rigidite sorunu ve buna ikincil gelişen bazı komplikasyonlar bu lenslerin belli başlı sorunu olmuştur. Silikon hidrojel kontakt lensler kendi evrimi içerisinde özellikle bu sorunun çözümü anlamında gelişme göstermişlerdir ve yeni nesil silikon hidrojel kontakt lensler ortaya çıkmıştır. Silikon hidrojel lenslerin gösterdiği bir başka dikkat çeken gelişim ise lenslerin farklı kullanım alanlarında çeşitlilik gösterir hale gelmesi olmuştur. Bu yazı ile silikon hidrojel lens alanında izlenen son gelişmelerin gözden geçirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Anahtar Kelimeler: Kontakt lens, Silikon hidrojel kontakt kens Silicone Hydrogel Contact Lenses: Up-To-Date SUMMARY Silicone hydrogel contact lenses with their high oxygen transmissibility have enabled to solve many problems due to corneal hypoxia during contact lens wearing and also allowed overnight reliable contact lens usage. High rigidity of these lenses, bound to the stiffness of the silicone material, was their main problem and sometimes that might cause to some secondary complications. Silicone hydrogel contact lenses have been improved in their evolution especially in terms of solving this problem and therefore new generation contact lenses were offered. Another noticeable improvement is that silicone hydrogel contact lenses have been differentiated to the diverse areas of use. Reviewing of recent improvements in the silicone hydrogel contact lens field is aimed with this article. Key Words: Contact lens, Silicone hydrogel contact lens
