Kontakt Lens ile Astigmatizma Düzeltme Güncel Durum Tomris ŞENGÖR ÖZET Astigmatik kırma kusuru toplumun yaklaşık % 45’ini ilgilendiren ve çözüm bekleyen önemli bir sorundur. Günümüzde astigmatizmanın düzeltimesinde sert ve yumuşak lensler kullanılabilmektedir. Her ne kadar gaz geçirgen sert lens materyallerinin kullanıma girmesi ile beraber rijid lens kategorisinde dikkat çekici başarılar yakalanmışsa da gerçek anlamda gelişme ve yenilik yumuşak torik kontakt lenslerde gerçekleşmiştir. Yumuşak lenslerde lens tasarımı, lens materyalleri, lens üretim çeşitliliğinde teknolojinin de katkısı ile ortaya çıkan atılımlar lens stabilizasyonu, kullanım rahatlığı, lensi kolay temin etme, deneme ve uygulama olanağını getirmiştir. Böylece torik yumuşak lensler çok geniş kitleler tarafında kullanılma şansını yakalamış, lens pazarı hızla genişlemiştir. Fakat yine de daha geniş ürün parametresi, daha iyi stabilizasyon sistemleri ve daha yüksek oksijen geçirgenliğine sahip materyaller ile ilgili arayış sürmektedir. Today, soft and hard lenses may be used for the correction of the astigmatism. Although rigid lens category lenses has gained remarkable success with the usage of gas permeable lens materials, real advance and innovation has occurred in the soft toric contact lenses. Innovations in the soft lenses for lens style, materials, lens production facilities with the contribution of the technology has brought lens stabilization, ease of use, easy supply, trial and application. Thus, toric soft lenses has gained the chance of being used by wide populations and lens market has developed. But, the search for a wider product parameters, better stabilization systems and the materials with higher oxygen permeability is continueing.
