ÖZET

Fungal kornea ülseri nedeniyle sağ göz korneası perfore olan 41 yaşındaki erkek hastaya siyanoakrilat doku yapıştırıcısı ve kontakt lens uygulandı. Üç mm’lik infiltrat içeren 1.5 mm’lik perforasyon hattı kapandı. Yedi gün içerisinde ön kamara reaksiyonu iyileşti, 22 gün sonra doku yapıştırıcısı çıkartıldı. Perforasyon hattının ve korneal infiltratın iyileştiği, epitel defektinin kapandığı gözlendi.
Perfore fungal kornea ülserlerinde topikal uygulanan siyanoakrilat doku yapıştırıcısı kornea ve ön kamara bütünlüğünü yeniden sağlarken toksik etkisiyle de enfektif ajanın tedavisinde rol oynamış olabilir.

Treatment of Fungal Corneal Ulcer Related Corneal Perforation with Cyanoacrylate Tissue Adhesive

SUMMARY

Cyanoacrylate was used for the treatment of a fungal corneal ulcer related perforation in a 41 year old male patient. The 1.5 mm wide perforation zone over a 3 mm infiltrate was occluded. The anterior chamber reaction decreased in 7 days, the glue was removed after 22 days. Neither epithelial defect nor infiltrate was present and the perforation zone was closed.
Cyanoacrylate tissue adhesive is effective in closing small corneal perforations and maintaining the anterior chamber. The glue may also be therapeutic for the fungal corneal infection due to its toxic properties.
