ÖZET

Su çiçeği sık görülen, genellikle iyi huylu, kendini sınırlayan ve komplikasyonları nadir olan viral enfeksiyon hastalığıdır. Preseptal sellülit göreceli olarak sık görülen, orbital septumun önündeki yumuşak dokuları tutan ve potansiyel olarak ciddi sonuçlar doğurabilen bir enfeksiyondur. Erken tedavi komplikasyonlardan kaçınmak amacıyla önemlidir. Bu olgu sunumunda, su çiçeği hastalığı olan, preseptal sellülit tanısı konularak hastanemizde tedavi gören 6 yaşındaki kız çocuğu sunulmuştur. Hasta intravenöz seftriakson ve vankomisin tedavisine cevap vermiş ve 20 gün sonra preseptal sellülit bulguları tamamen düzelmiştir.

Preseptal Cellulitis Secondary to Varicella Disease (Chicken Pox)

SUMMARY

Varicella is a common infectious disease, usually benign and self-limited, and its complications are believed to be rare. Preseptal cellulitis is a relatively common, but potentially serious infection of the subcutaneous tissues anterior to the orbital septum. Early treatment is of great importance to avoid the complications. In this case report, a six-year-old girl with Varicella disease (Chickenpox), who was diagnosed as unilateral preseptal cellulitis and treated at our hospital, was presented. The patient responded well to intravenous ceftriaxon and vancomycin therapy and 20 days later the preseptal cellulitis healed completely.
