Anterior Optik Nöropati ile Başlayan Oküler Toksoplazma Olgusu

ÖZET
Papillit ile başvuran bir toksoplazma olgusu sunuldu. Bağışıklık sistemi yetersizliği olmayan genç erkek hasta oral kortikosteroid tedavisi altındayken papillit ve juksta papiller retinokoroidit odağı ile başvurdu. Toksoplazmaya bağlı anterior optik nöropati tanısı aldı. Oral antibiyotik ve kortikosteroid ile altı hafta tedavi devam edildi. Tedavinin ilk haftasının sonunda görme keskinliği 10/10 olarak belirlendi. Bu olgu tek taraflı anterior optik nöropati ayırıcı tanısında toksoplazma etkeninin akla getirilmesinin önemini vurgulamaktadır. Ancak tanıyı kesinleştirmeden önce diğer papillit nedenlerinin ayırıcı tanısı yapılmalıdır.

An Ocular Toxoplasmosis Case Presenting As Anterior Optic Neuropathy At First
ABSTRACT
A toxoplasmosis case wih papillitis is presented. An otherwise immuncompetent young male presented with papillits and juxtapaplillary retinochoroiditis while he was on oral corticosteroid therapy. The presumed diagnosis was of an anterior optic neuropathy due to toxoplasmozis. The patient was treated with oral antibiotics and oral corticosteroid over 6 weeks. The visiual acuity returned to 10/10 after one week of treatment. This case demonstrates the importance of including diagnosis of toxoplasmosis in the differential diagnosis of unilateral anterior optic neuropathy. However other causes of papillitis should be ruled out before concluding the diagnosis.
