ÖZET

Amaç: Radyal keratotomi (RK) operasyonu sonrası rezidüel refraktif kusurların düzeltilmesinde fotorefraktif keratektomi (PRK) ve laser in situ keratomileusis'in (LASIK) güvenilirliğini ve etkinliğini araştırmak.
Gereç ve Yöntem: RK sonrası rezidüel miyopi ve astigmatizma sebebiyle kliniğimize başvuran ve PRK veya LASIK uygulanan 6 hastanın 9 gözü retrospektif olarak incelendi (5 göze LASIK, 4 göze PRK). RK ile PRK/LASIK uygulaması arası geçen süre ortalama 36.3±13.9 (16-52) aydı. Postoperatif takip süresi 17.1±19.8 aydı. Olguların preoperatif ve postoperatif düzeltilmemiş (DGK) ve en iyi düzeltilmiş görme keskinlikleri (EDGK), refraksiyon değerleri ve sferik eşdeğerleri (SE) alındı ve karşılaştırıldı.
Bulgular: Olguların yapılan son kontrollerinde ortalama SE -5.53±2.71 dioptiriden -0.54±0.63 dioptiriye düştü. DGK preoperatif 0.11±0.10 iken postoperatif 0.62±0.20'ye çıktı. Hiçbir gözde EDGK'de düşüş olmadı. Postoperatif 9 gözden 8 tanesi (% 88.8)±1.0 dioptiri emetropi aralığındaydı.
Sonuç: RK sonrası rezidüel miyopi ve astigmatizmanın tedavisinde PRK ve LASIK güvenilir ve sonuçları iyi cerrahi yöntemlerdir.

LASIK and Photorefractive Keratectomy to Correct Residual Myopia and
Astigmatism after Radial Keratotomy

SUMMARY

Purpose: The aim of this study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) and laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) for correction of residual myopia and astigmatism after radial keratotomy (RK).
Material and Methods: Nine eyes of 6 patients who had undergone RK but had residual myopia and/or astigmatism had LASIK or PRK surgery (5 had LASIK, 4 had PRK). The results of PRK/LASIK are studied retrospectively. Mean time elapsed between RK and LASIK/PRK was 36.3±13.9 (16-52) months. Mean postoperative follow up time was 17.1±19.8 months. Uncorrected (UCVA) and best spectacle corrected visual acuities (BSCVA), refractions and spherical equivalents (SE) are recorded pre and postoperatively and evaluated.
Results: At the last visit SE had decreased from -5.53±2.71 diopters to -0.54±0.63 diopters. UCVA increased from 0.11±0.10 to 0.62±0.20. No decrease in BCVA was observed. Eight of 9 eyes (88.8% ) were within ±1.0 diopters of emetropia.
Conclusion: PRK and LASIK are safe and effective surgical methods to correct residual myopia and/or astigmatism after RK.
