ÖZET

Amaç: Kardiyak Troponin I myokard hasarını belirlemede iyi bir gösterge olması nedeniyle respiratuar distress sendromu (RDS) olan prematüre bebeklerde kardiyak etkilenmenin olup olmadığını araştırmaktır.
Gereç ve Yöntem: Gestasyon yaşı 37 haftadan küçük 30 prematüre bebek çalışmaya alındı. Bebeklerin 19'da RDS saptandı. Kardiyak Troponin I bebeklerin ikinci günleri içinde alındı. Kardiyak Troponin I'nın cut-off değeri 0.200 mg/l olarak alındı. İstatistik analizinde Ki kare, Mann-Whitney U testi ve Fischer's Exact testleri kullanıldı.
Bulgular: Hastaların gestasyonel yaş, solunum sayısı ve kalp tepe atımları arasında istatistiksel fark yoktu. RDS'si olan 19 bebekten 7'sinde Kardiyak Troponin I cut-off değerinin üstünde olmasına rağmen, RDS'si olan ve olmayan bebekler arasında istatistiksel olarak fark saptanmadı.

The Levels of Cardiac Troponin I in Premature Babies with and
Without Respiratory Distress Syndrome

SUMMARY

Objective: Cardiac Troponin I is a very useful indicator showing myocardial injurry. We aim to find out the effect of respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) on myocard tissue of premature babies if there is any.
Material and Methods: 30 premature babies whose gestation ages were less than 37 weeks, were included in this study. 19 of babies were found out to have RDS. Cardiac Troponin was taken from the babies in the second day. The cut-off level of Cardiac Troponin I, was accepted as 0,200 mg/l. As for statistical analyses chi square, Mann-Whitney U Test and Fisher's Exact Test were used.
Result: There was no statistical significance between the gestational age, breath frequency and heart rate. However, there was no significant difference exists between the babies who has RDS and who has not; Cardiac Troponin I level was found out to be over cut-off level in 7 of 19 patients with RDS.
