ÖZET

Amaç: Bu çalışmamızın amacı, erken doğum nedeniyle tokolitik ilaç olarak intravenöz ritodrinin, gebelerde serum glukoz düzeyine etkilerini araştırmaktır.
Gereç ve Yöntem: Kliniğimizde, erken doğum tehdidi nedeniyle intravenöz ritodrin tedavisi alan 20 gebeyi inceledik. Gebelerden, ritodrin başlamadan hemen önce, altıncı ve onikinci saatlerde serum glukoz ölçümleri yapıldı.
Bulgular: Hastaların ortalama yaşı 27.2±5 ve ortalama gebelik haftaları 30.2±3 bulundu. Hastaların üçünde (%15) erken membran rüptürü ve bir hastada (5%) çoğul gebelik mevcuttu. Hastaların altı ve onikinci saatlerde ölçülen kan glukoz düzeyleri (160±16mg/dl ve 131±7 mg/dl), intravenöz ritodrin başlamadan önceki kan glukoz düzeylerine (83±13 mg/dl) göre belirgin olarak yüksek saptandı (p<0.05).
Sonuç: Intravenöz ritodrin, tedaviden 6-9 saat sonra glukoz düzeyinde artışa neden olsa da 12 saat sonra glukoz düzeylerinde düşüş izlenir.

SUMMARY

Effects of Intravenous Ritodrine Tocolysis for Preterm Labor on Maternal Serum Glucose Level

Objective: The aim of the present study is to determine the effect of ritodrine on plasma glucose levels in pregnant women when used as a tocolytic drug.
Material and methods: Twenty pregnant women who were having intravenous ritodrine tocolysis beacuse of preterm labor were included for the study. Plasma glucose levels were measured before and at the 6th and 12th hours after the administration of tocolysis.
Results: The mean age of the patients was 27.2±5 and the mean gestational age 30.2±3 weeks. Premature rupture of membranes was present in three cases and multiple pregnancy in one case. The mean plasma glucose levels were 160±16 mg/dl And 131±7 mg/dl at the 6th and 12th hours respectively, whiche were significantly different form the baseline value of 83±13 mg/dl (p<0.05).
Conclusion: While the tocolytic therpay of ritodrine causes a rise in the plasma glucoe level at the 6th hour, the rise decreases at the 12th hour.
