ÖZET
Katarakt cerrahisinde kullanilan solusyonlara bagli allerjik reaksiyon nadir görülen bir durum degildir. Allerjinin derecesi, allerjene ve olusturdugu immünolojik reaksiyonun tipine göre degiskenlik gösterir. Katarakt nedeniyle opere edilen 59 yasindaki bir erkek hastada, operasyon sirasinda, intrakamaral karbakol kullanimina bagli siddetli allerjik reaksiyon gelismistir. Bu reaksiyon yaygin olarak kornea, iris, sklera ve konjonktivayi da içermistir. Postoperatif dönemde topikal ve oral steroid tedavisi uygulanmis ve bu tedaviye iyi cevap alinmistir.

Carbachol Allergy in a Cataract Patient
SUMMARY
An allergic reaction to the solutions that are used during cataract surgery is not rare. The extent of allergy differs according to the allergen and the type of the immunologic reaction. In a male patient who underwent cataract surgery, an intense allergic reaction to intracameral carbachol use developed. Cornea, iris, sclera and conjunctiva were involved in this allergic reaction. Good response was achieved to topical and oral steroid treatment in the postoperative period.
