ÖZET

Atriyal septumun, atriyum içine doğru bombeleşmesine veya iki atriyum arasındaki fazik hareketine atriyal septal anevrizma (ASA) denir. Patent foramen ovale, ASD, MVP gibi kardiyak hastalıklara sık eşlik etme eğiliminde olan ASA, nörolojik veya sistemik emboli, paradoks emboli, atriyal aritmi, anevrizma rüptürü ve migren gibi komplikasyonlara yol açma eğilimindedir. Yapılan çalışmaların artması ile her geçen gün klinik önemli daha iyi anlaşılan ASA’ların eşlik ettiği patolojiler ve neden olduğu komplikasyonlar nedeni ile takip ve tedavileri bilinenin aksine önem kazanmaktadır. Gelecekte yapılacak yeni çalışmalar ışığında ASA’nın klinik önemi daha da artabilir. Bu yazıda, ASA’nın fizyopatolojisi, klinik önemi, ilişkili olduğu diğer hastalıklar, komplikasyonları, tedavi ve prognozunu irdeleedik.

Atrial Septal Aneurysm

SUMMARY

Bulging of the atrial septum towards the inner part of the atrium or the phasic movement of the atrial septum between two atriums is called an atrial septal aneurysm (ASA). ASA which frequently tends to accompany such cardiac diseases as patent foramen ovale, ASD and MVP may lead to complications like neurological or systemic emboly, paradox emboly, atrial arrhythmia, aneurysm rupture and migraine. The increase in studies about ASA has brought about a better understanding of its clinical importance and, contrary to what is known, follow-up and treatment of ASA have become increasingly important due to the pathologies it accompanies and the complications it causes. Clinical significance attached to ASA may increase in the future, in the light of further studies. In the present paper, we investigated the physiopathology and clinical significance of ASA, as well as the diseases it is associated with, its complications, treatment and prognosis.
