ÖZET
Kızamık virusu enfeksiyonu esnasında ve sonrasında virusun belirgin immünsüpresif etkisi nedeniyle insanlar fırsatçı enfeksiyonlara karşı hassastır. Bu olgu sunumunda karakteristik olarak kızamık hastalığının klinik özelliklerini taşıyan ve preseptal selülit tanısı konularak hastanemizde tedavi gören üç yaşındaki kız çocuğu sunulmuştur. Hasta intravenöz seftriakson ve vankomisin ikili tedavisine yanıt vermiş ve bir ay sonra preseptal selülit bulguları tamamen düzelmiştir. Kızamık virüsü enfeksiyonu sonrasında immün sistemin baskılanması ve ikincil enfeksiyonlara karşı bir yatkınlığın oluşması iyi bir biçimde ortaya konulmuş klinik hadisedir. Literatürde kızamığa bağlı bu tür bir komplikasyon ilk kez bildirilmektedir.

Preseptal Cellulitis in Measles
SUMMARY
During and after measles virus infection humans are highly susceptible to opportunistic infections because of a marked immunosuppressive effect of the virus. In this case report, a three year-old girl with characteristic measles disease features, who was diagnosed as unilateral preseptal cellulitis and treated in our hospital, was presented. Patient responded intravenous ceftriaxone and vancomycin dual therapy and one month later the preseptal cellulitis was healed completely. Immune suppression resulting from measles virus infection and the subsequent susceptibility to secondary infections is a well established clinical phenomenon. Description of this secondary infection of measles is the first in the literature.
