ÖZET

Amaç: Bu araştırma iç hastalıkları kliniklerinde çalışan hemşirelerin hasta eğitimi yapmalarını etkileyen  faktörler ve yaşadıkları güçlüklere ilişkin görüşlerini belirlemek amacı ile yapılmıştır.
Gereç ve Yöntem: Araştırmanın evrenini, Gazi Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Hastanesi, Bayındır Hastanesi ve Ankara Numune Hastanesi İç Hastalıkları Kliniklerinde çalışan 211 hemşire, örneklemini ise raporlu ve izinli olmayan ve araştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden 107 hemşire oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada verilerin toplanmasında araştırmacılar tarafından literatürden yararlanılarak geliştirilen anket formu kullanılmıştır.
Bulgular:  Bu araştırmanın sonucunda hemşirelerin %96’sının çalıştıkları klinikte hasta eğitimi verdiği, hasta eğitimi yaparken %76.6’sının hastaya, %68.9’unun hasta yakınlarına, %45.6’sının eğitim yaptıkları ortama, %41.7’sinin  kullanılan eğitim materyaline, %27.2’sinin kendisi ile ilgili  nedenlere bağlı olarak güçlük yaşadıkları belirlenmiştir. Hasta eğitimi veren hemşirelerin yarıdan fazlasının kongre/sempozyum vb. faaliyetlere katılmadığı (%64.3) ve hemşirelerin hasta eğitimi verme durumu ile kongre/sempozyum vb. faaliyetlere katılma durumları arasında anlamlı bir fark bulunmuştur (p<0.05).
Sonuç:  Araştırmanın sonucunda, hemşirelerin  büyük çoğunluğunun hasta eğitimi verdiği saptanmıştır. Ancak hemşirelerin hasta eğitimi verirken hasta, hasta yakınları, eğitim ortamı ve kendileri ile ilgili nedenlerden dolayı güçlük yaşadığı saptanmıştır. Bu nedenle iç hastalıkları kliniklerinde çalışan hemşirelerin  hasta eğitimine ilişkin güçlüklerin giderilmesine yönelik çözümlerin geliştirilmesi gereklidir.

Opinions of Nurses Who Work at Internal Medicine Clinics, Concerning The factors That  Affect  Health Education for Patients Given by Nurses and Difficulties They Face

SUMMARY

Objective: it’s aimed to determine  opinions of nurses who work at internal medicine clinics, concerning the factors that  affect  health education for patients given by nurses and difficulties they face  in this  study.
Material and Method: The research was conducted in the Internal  Medicine Clinics of Ankara Numune Hospital, Bayindir Hospital, Medical School Hospital of Gazi University. 211 nurses working in the Medical School Hospital of Gazi University , Bayindir Hospital and Ankara Numune Hospital were the subjects of the research and 107 nurses who were not on sick leave or annual leave and who agreed to participate in the research were used as samples. In the step of data collection for the study, A questionnaire has  been used by benefiting from literature by researchers.
Results: In the result of this research conducted for the determination of the  nurses’opinions, who work at internal medicine clinics, concerning the factors  that effect  to give patient education  and diffucults of them  in  patient education,  it has been determined  that 96% of nurses in sample give patient education and as we examined the difficulties during patient education that nurses, 76.6% of them depending on patient, 68.9% depending on patient relatives and 45.6% depending on environment where they educate,  41.7% depending on  education materials used by nurses and 27.2% depending on reasons with related to  themselves in have fell into difficulties. More than half of nurses giving patient education not have participated congress/symposium etc. (64.3%) and İt has been found  a significant difference between participitation situation of them to congress/symposium with giving patient education.
Conclusion: In the result of this research, It has been determined that a considerable  majority of nurses give patient education. However, İt has been determined that   nurses have  diffucults  in  during  patient  education  because of reasons with related to patient, patient relatives, education environment, education materials and   themselves.  Therefore, İt is required to develop  solutions towards diffucults of nurses  who work at internal medicine clinics, concerning patient education
