ÖZET

Bruselloz, Brucella cinsi bakterilerin neden olduğu bir zoonoz olup Türkiye’yi de içine alan Akdeniz ülkelerinde önemli bir halk sağlığı sorunudur. Hastalık insanlara sıklıkla Brucella  cinsi bakteriler ile kontamine olmuş pastörize edilmemiş süt ve süt ürünlerinin tüketilmesi ile bulaşmaktadır. Semptom ve klinik bulgularının zenginliği nedeni ile pek çok hastalıkla karışabilmektedir. Dünya genelinde brusellozun tanısı serolojik yöntemlerle konmaktadır. Hastalığın uygun antibiyotik tedavisi ile morbiditesi azalmakta, komplikasyonlar önlenmekte ve relapslar azalmaktadır.  Brusellozdan korunma, hayvanlardan hastalığın eliminasyonu ve kontrolüne dayanmaktadır.

Brucellosis

SUMMARY

Brucellosis is  a zoonotic disease caused by Brucella species. It is still an important public health problem in the Mediterranean countries, including Turkey. The disease is mainly transmitted to humans through the ingestion of raw milk or non-pasteurized cheese contaminated with Brucella species. Because of different symptoms and clinical findings disease to be confused with several diseases. Worldwide, the diagnosis of brucellosis is usually made by serology. Appropriate antimicrobial therapy and duration of treatment of human brucellosis will reduce morbidity, prevent complications, and diminish relapses. The prevention of human brucellosis depends on the control and elimination of the disease in domestic animals.
