ÖZET

Hiatus hernisi ileri yaşta sık görülen gastroenterolojik bir  anomalidir. Hiatus hernisi transtorasik ekokardiyografide sol atrial bir kitleyi taklit edebilir ve bazen de posterior mediastenden sol atriuma bası yapan kalp dışı kitle imajı verebilir. Klinik pratikte postprandial ve özellikle nokturnal dispne, yutkunmakla ortaya çıkan senkop atakları ve bazen de ritm problemleri şeklinde görülebilir. Bu olgu sunumunda, postprandial dispne ve presenkop ile seyreden bir sliding hiatus hernisi sunulmuştur.

Sliding Hiatus Hernia As A Cause of Postprandial Dyspnea and Presyncope

SUMMARY

Hiatus hernia is a common gastroenterologic abnormality in elderly population. Hiatus hernia may mimic a left atrial mass on transthoracic echocardiography and sometimes it may compress left atrium from the posterior mediastenum. This may manifest in clinical practice as nocturnal dyspnea, syncope upon swallowing and sometimes rhythm abnormalities. Here we represent a case report of  sliding hiatus hernia  manifesting with postprandial dyspnea and presyncope
