Çok Amaçlı Kontakt Lens Solüsyonlarının Silikon Hidrojel Kontakt Lenslerle Biyouyumluluğu Ebru TOKER ÖZET Çok amaçlı kontakt lens solüsyonlarının içinde bulunan prezervanlar veya diğer bileşenler silikon hidrojel kontakt lenslerin yüzeyine önce bağlanıp daha sonra gözyaşına salınarak kornea epitelinde toksik boyanmaya yol açabilirler. Yapılan çalışmalar, korneadaki toksik boyanmanın daha sıklıkla poliheksametilen biguanide (PHMB) içeren ürünlerle görüldüğünü, polikuad içeren solüsyonlarla boyanmanın daha nadir olarak geliştiğini, prezervan içermeyen hidrojen peroksit solüsyonlarıyla ise hemen hemen hiç toksik boyanma görülmediğini göstermiştir. Aynı konsantrasyonda PHMB içeren değişik solüsyonlar farklı oranda toksik cevaba yolaçabilir, bu da prezervan dışında solüsyonun formülasyonunun, yani içeriğinde bulanan diğer maddelerin de sitotoksik cevap gelişiminde etkili olabileceğini göstermektedir. Previous studies have shown that toxic staining is more common with PHMB based products and relatively rare with polyquad based systems and almost none with preservative free hydrogen peroxide solutions. Regimens with identical concentration of PHMB can behave differently in terms of toxic reaction and this suggests that other components in the formulation may also be responsible from this cytotoxic effect.
