Glokom Genetiği Oya TEKELİ ÖZET Glokom retina ganglion hücrelerinin ilerleyici kaybı ile karakterize bir hastalıktır. Tam olarak nedeni bilinmemektedir. Birden fazla nedenden ileri gelen bir hastalık olup, pekçok genetik ve çevresel faktörden etkilenir. Hastalığın patogenezinde genetik faktörlerin önemli bir rol oynayabileceğini gösteren kanıtlar vardır. Glokom prevalansında etnik farklılıklar olması ve aile hikayesi hastalığın kalıtsal olduğunu destekler. Glokomluların küçük bir kısmı Mendelian kalıtım göstermekle beraber, bu hastaların akrabaları genel popülasyona göre artmış risk altındadır. Muhtelif tip genlerin glokom gelişiminde rol aldığından şüphelenilmektedir. The glaucoma is a multifactorial disease and affected by multiple genetic and environmental factors. There is evidence showing that genetic factors may play an important role in the pathogenesis of the disease. Ethnic differences in the prevalence of glaucoma and positive family history support the inheritance of glaucoma. Althoug the small proportion of glaucoma shows Mendelian inheritance, relatives of these patients are at higher risk than the general population.
