Protein-C Eksikliği ile İlişkili Bilateral Lökokori Fulya YAYLACIOĞLU, Murat HASANREİSOĞLU, Zeynep AKTAŞ, Şafak KORKMAZ, Şengül ÖZDEK ÖZET Protein C eksikliği otozomal resesif bir hastalık olup, özellikle homozigot eksiklik durumunda körlüğe ve ölümcül tromboembolik komplikasyonlara sebep olabilmektedir. Doğum sonrası birinci günde kolda purpura fulminans gelişmesi sebebiyle cerrahi debridman yapılan kız bebeğe laboratuvar sonuçlarına göre homozigot protein-C eksikliği tanısı konmuştur. İkinci haftada bilateral lökokori saptanması sebebiyle kliniğimize refere edilmiştir. Hastanın yapılan oftalmolojik muayenesinde, bilateral mikroftalmi, santral korneal opasite, sığ ön kamara ve B-mod ultrasonografide retrolental kitle görünümü saptandı. Bu bulgular ile olguda protein C eksikliğine eşlik eden retina displazisi düşünüldü. Oftalmologlar, bilateral persistan fetal damarlanma ya da retinal displazi olgularının ayırıcı tanısında protein-C eksikliğinin de olabileceğini unutmamalıdırlar. Anahtar Kelimeler: Protein- C eksikliği, Retinal displazi, Mikroftalmi Bilateral Leucocoria Associated with Protein-C Deficiency SUMMARY Protein-C deficiency is an autosomal recessive disorder and especially when the deficiency is homozygous it could cause blindness and life-threatening thromboembolic complications. A female newborn who was undergone surgical debridement because of an area of purpura fulminans developed on her arm on the first day after birth, was diagnosed as homozygous protein-C deficiency according to her laboratory results. On the second week, bilateral leucocoria was detected and referred to our ophthalmology clinic. In her ophthalmological examination, bilateral microphthalmia, central corneal opacities, shallow anterior chamber and on the B-scan ultrasonography a retrolental mass were detected. According to these findings we thought retinal dysplasia associated with Protein-C deficiency in this patient. Ophthalmologists should not forget protein-C deficiency in differential diagnosis of bilateral persistant fetal vasculature or retinal dysplasia.
